First, an apology! I know there are other threads that deal with the horror rattle, I just didn't want this to get lost in the chaff.

Since the weather started getting cold in Chicago my roof rattle has been getting progressively worse and starting to drive me nuts. I bought this
After fully opening the roof I applied a single strip to the left, and right, underside of the glass. I didn't apply the tape to the leading or trailing edges. After closing the roof, the glass sits on a foam cushion between the metal and glass.

No rattles, no leaks, no more meds.

Hey man, thanks for posting / sharing. Mine makes these noises as well but I keep forgetting to check if my rails are rusty or not. FYI - I am also in Chicago.

 

well done. any car that has sun roof experience some rattles

 

I'm curious how far in from the side did you place the foam?

 

I ran the foam tape down the edge of the glass.
