Good job painting the wheels, but I personally don't like it. I'm not a big fan of painted wheels. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I am not a fan myself either. I think alot has to do with the type of rims and how they are painted. They only ones I have seen and like still has chrome lip.

I will add my 2 cents, I am not feeling it either. Maybe if the chrome window trim was painted black it would help.

a wash and a little tire gel would make it look nicer I am sure.

I like it!

Having said that...JoycesJag has a point..I'd have either gone body-color on the chrome trim or left a chrome ring around the wheels, one or t'other.

Well, I like it. Makes it unique and aggressive. And if it is just to be different. Thanks for sharing.

nice job painting the wheels, also nice way to ruin a Jag, I'd like to have a cup of coffee with the owner of that Jag sometime and play chess with him.

Sorry, but not for me either. The wheels look lost in a sea of green.

Who's that getting out of the trunk of the XJ?

customer cleaning out his 99 XJ VDP traded in for a 07 X-type. the J has 120k and the transmission let go so his wife wants a X-type now. though 07-08 x-type's are great cars.

Default "Midnight edition"

This is what our dealer did and they called it their midnight edition.
They did the wheels in black chrome (kasuga 20" that they had permachromed by a local wheel company www.uswheelexchange.com), put the black mesh grills on, tinted the windows, painted the side vents, and painted the leaper on the trunk to match the paint.

Yuck to the photos the OP posted in the first post. It just looks like dirty steelies from far away! Maybe if the car were white and the wheels were white, I'd think different.

Oh man - I have been wanting to paint the grill black. Can you please post a pic of the back, would like to see how the leaper painted black looks!

I have a whitel XJL Supersport and I think the black painted leaper on the trunk and a black painted grill would look great with the SS wheels.
