Default Ticking from backseat

2013 XJL 3.0 AWD

When the engine is running there is a subtle, but constant ticking sound coming from the back seat area. From the driver's seat, I only notice it when the car is not moving, but my kids claim they can hear it all the time when sitting back there. Any ideas what it might be?

Farmer, I can only think of 2 things that would be back there that would make a ticking sound. That would be either the fuel pump or the air ride leveling system. This is where I would say to open the truck, remove the covering from over the spare tire. You can then start the car and listen inside the trunk. If you can hear it there really well, then it is most likely the air compressor. If you still can't hear it, then odds are it is the fuel pump. Granted, if you can hear it all the time, then odds are it is not the air compressor, but it is coming from your fuel pump.
