got appointment this wednesday to get windows tinted. decided to go with 15% all around and was wondering has anyone else tinted their new xj yet and what percentage did you go with?

 

I have 15% on the rear windows and 35% on the front windows. I didn't go with 15% all around because technically it is illegal to tint the front windows at all here in CA but as long as the cops can see you through the windows, they usually don't hassle you.

I almost went with 5% in the rear but thought it might be too dark at night. I've used 15% on all my other cars and it seems to be about right for me.

 

I tinted my windows with 20% ceramic tints all around, for comparison the Pontiac G8 in the background has 35% all around and the conversion van in the back has 5% in the rears which is extremely dark IMO. 20% is illegal here in Florida but I haven't had any problems with it so far. I recommend you install ceramic tints as to avoid having any reception problems with your GPS and radio signal.
