Tread Wear - Scalloping On The Inside
So I'm completely new to Jaguar ownership, so bear with me. 13K miles on the origineal Dunlop Summer tires (I forget the exact model). 2015 XJL 5.0 Supercharged. The vehicle runs like a dream... with one really increasingly annoying issue... The Front tires are scalloping / cupping on the inside tread on the fronts. So I'm getting vibration and noise that simply will not due. Of course I plan to replace the tires asap. But I'm trying to determine if I need to just take it to the dealer for a possible warranty claim. See, the irregular tread wear is only occurring on the inside tread.... this has me wondering if it is a SUSPENSION issue or maybe just an ALIGNMENT issue.
If it is a suspension issue, I wonder if it would be covered under the 3yr/36K mile warranty. Alignment is a simple fix (ie. will not be done at the dealer).
Thoughts?

I would have the alignment checked and make sure you are running the proper air pressure according to the plate on the door. It could be a balance issue but when you replace the tires I am sure the tire guy will conduct a proper balance. The car has a 4 year 50,000 mile warranty. My 2015 is under warranty until June 2019.
I'm no expert, but doesn't scalloping occur when the tire continuously bounces? Meaning the struts are not doing their job to dampen the oscillation. That's probably your vibration. Could be electronic malfunction with the strut dampening. Guessing here. If the scalloping is only on the inside the camber needs to be corrected i.e. wheel alignment.
My two cents on the matter.

I have the same problem on my 2011 XJL. I had it in for an oil change and asked the tech to have a look at the suspension and he pointed out that the control arm bushings are showing their age. He suggested that this was the cause of the inside tire wear. Thankfully, they can replace the bushings without having to replace the control arms, as he said the Jaguar dealer would want to do.
I’d get the alignment checked first preferably on a Hunter 4 wheel instrument. They will check front & rear toe, camber, castor & thrust angles. Suspension supposedly should be in tight tolerance mode. Hopefully the hunter agent you find will have the diagnostic equipment to set that mode & when done set it back to customer mode.
Hope that helps!
