Default V-6 redline?

Anybody happen to know the redline of the supercharged V-6 engine? I've been taking it fairly easy on our new XJ, but now that we crossed the 500 mile mark, I "jumped on it" a little bit, a couple of days ago, and the tachometer spooled up very rapidly.

The tach goes into the "red zone" at 5500 RPM, and I'm assuming the automatic transmission should up shift somewhere around that point. Being an automatic, I wasn't paying close attention to the tach, at first, but when I caught a glance, out of the side of my eye, I noted that it was well past 5500 RPM, and hadn't upshifted. Of course, I backed right out of it, but now I'm wondering if something isn't right....

Leadfoot4, I would think that the redline would be higher than that. I know my V8 has the redline at 6250 or something in that range. I would suspect that the smaller engine with lighter parts should be able to spool up to atleast that range, if not higher. If you look at the specs for the 2017 model, Jaguar quotes the power up to 6500 RPM. So, I would suspect that it is pretty much where the redline is, if not a few hundred RPM above that.

My 510hp V8 graduated red line starts at 6500rpm and goes to full red at 6800rpm

Thanks, guys!

I guess I'm more familiar with a "redLINE", rather than a "redZONE".....
