My car has been experiencing a weird hesitation at precisely the same exact RPM (somewhere between 2800-2900)....and only in 2nd gear, as I am accelerating (moderate to heavy). i dont notice it in any other gear or RPM. Any idea what thats about?

My X308 XJR did this, it was an expiring fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure.

I ended up driving around with a FP gauge taped to the windshield wiper, then I could see that under second gear acceleration the fuel pressure started dropping.

 

interesting. ill see if i can find an OBD scanner that does FP
