The advert taken from a 60s magazine on the wall of my home office says "Grace Space Pace, so Pace is last ! It also says "a special kind of motoring no other car in the world can offer". Hyperbole (aka bullsh*t) maybe ? No, not for the period when almost all foreign cars were subject to very heavy import duties and then purchase tax of 50% on top of that ! So in the UK a fast car was always a Jaguar and usually a saloon at that, too. When I was at school in Newbury in the early 60s we would see Mark 2 3.8s and drool over them. "When I grow up I want one of these !" 120 mph, and 0-60 in under 10 seconds in 1960. And all in such an elegant body and lots of chrome too.

What really pleases me is seeing the word "elegance" coming back. What is an SUV ? A Sports Utility Vehicle, in other words an up-market breadvan. OK, Jaguar have to make them as that is where the market is, but they will never be loved. Essentially buying an SUV is the same as buying a frig or washing machine for your house; its a utility.
Anyway, can we please see this new saloon asap please !

If you can take anything from the re-designed 2021 F-TYpe, oh boy. Boy am I glad I got my XJ when I did. The slit for headlights just kills me. No real images of the XJ other than the same pic of the back of the car with its tail light.. The Grand Turismo concept car could be a general idea of where the XJ is going. But, again, lots of slits and not much to really say "Look at these" other than the vent scoops on the front of the car. Sorry, I am not interested in those unless they are the intakes to some large V8 motor under the hood or needed ducting for cooling the brakes.

If the XJ EV has been refined and enhanced from the iPace, then you can keep your V8. I'll take one and look at you disappearing in my rear-view mirror.

im anxious about how the new XJ is going to look. so far im not feeling too confident. from the back i see hints of Lincoln Continental.

the front of the new F-type i think is dumb. not ugly, but dumb...its just so generic, lazy. absolutely no thought was put into it.
