My wifes 2012 XJL is in need of new tires (ouch!) and I want to put a wider tire on the back of the vehicle. The car currently has the stock 19" (x10" width?) wheels on it with 275/40 rubbers on the back. Is it possible to fit a 295, 305, 315, or maybe a 325 on the stock wheel without any clearance issues under the car?? If anyone has swapped to a bigger tire on stock rims I would love to hear about it! ThankYou!

 

I have a 2014 XJR with 295/30-20 which is stock so yes you do have room for some more tire.

I have stayed away from 19" because of the limited tire selection. 18" is great and 20" is great but for some reason 19" is kind of an orphan?

I am sure you know to keep the OD as close as possible to the stock 275/40's that are on there now.
