XJ Centre Console Lid Button

Just upgraded my XF to a 2011 XJ.

I need 2 hands to push the centre console lid button down to open it.

Is this a known problem & is there a fix.

I had the dealer look at mine when it was in for a service, no idea what they did but it was much easier after I got the car back.
I have a feeling someone said the "wax or oil ? " that makes it soft close in the damper was a bit of an issue. There are a few new ones that pop up on ebay from time to time.
Might be worth you asking on the UK jaguar forum as well

The mechanism needs to be cleaned. Do NOT use a spray lubricant or oil because that will only make matters worse. There is an excellent tutorial on how to clean it somewhere in this forum - do a search. Mine was still under warranty when I started having trouble with it so the dealership took care of it for me.
