Exclamation XJ Supercharge have same brake fitment as the N/A model?

I have a 2011 Jaguar XJ 5.0 Supercharge model. I'm wondering if all XJ models including the N/A models have same brake fitments from 2011-2015? Thanks

prodigy, there are 2 different brake systems for the XJ. You have the brake system for tne N/A models and then you have a brake system for all the supercharged versions. The supercharged versions have a 1 inch larger rotor front and rear and as a result, this requires a different pad in the caliper. I believe the supercharged versions also have more pistons in the calipers than the N/A versions, allowing for greater stopping force.

Thermo is correct. The fronts are two piston calipers. I recently did mine, and can tell you there are LOTS of incorrect parts listings showing the smaller rotors fitting the S/C 5.0, or fitting both the N/A and S/C cars. Measure your rotors, and know the right parts for your car. Not really a difficult process, though.

This comes up occassionally and you can have non 2 piston larger rotors on sc cars. Depends on how they were ordered/built. Reason i know is because after parkets brake catalogs are damn wrong all the time when going solely by yr and model. But etting them from jaguar with your vin is always correct. I do not always have the car when ordering brake before hand and this has caught me several times since i cannot measure or see the cars brakes before hand. So i have pretty much gone to getting vins and just getting the parts from jaguar with the vin

I wonder if there is any rhyme or reason, to it? For example, I saw a video of brakes being replaced on a SC car that were one pot, but it was an "F Type". I also wonder if maybe XJ SC V6 cars may have the smaller brakes? Somebody had said that Jaguar didn't encourage CERAMIC brakes because they didn't have adequate performance for the 5.0 SC. It seems kind of contradictory that Jaguar could make that statement, yet build XJ SC 5.0 with the smaller brakes. If you are not planning on OEM, just know what you have when you order parts. It is easy enough to take the wheel off, measure the o.d. and thickness of the rotor, and SEE if you have single or double piston calipers. It totally avoids mistakes.

Diameter of rotors and single or double piston is all you need to know. I usually directly contact EBC(I have gotten best performance and use from these on everything) and they will get you the correct parts numbers to order from their vendors.
