Default XJ Supersport 'Ring Taxi

Has anyone seen the accident that occurred?

I know it has roll cage, but it absorbed the hit really well, considering it was probably going over 100mph.

Here's another view of it. Looks almost like the wheel lock caused understeer, otherwise, they might have made the corner.

Clearly a driver mistake. He was way over his head, pretty much sideways into the previous corner, as seen in the second video. Having barely made it through that corner and still going way too fast, he was unable to transition the car for the next corner.

Also, his ABS was not working properly, as seen by the right-rear wheel lockup. But, even if it did it would not have saved him from crashing.

Looks like the damage was fairly minor but, the value of that car just fell through the floor.

Edit: Upon reviewing the second video several times, I'll take my comment back regarding the previous corner. The driver did hit the apex of that corner all right but, still went into the next corner way too fast. He was unable to steer the car back to the left side of the track from which the next turn was supposed to be initiated. From that position, making that turn at those speeds was not possible. The main factor could have been a lack of familiarity with the corner combination where a faster turn was followed by a slower one.

The second video is actually a better one.

Supposedly there was a visitor in the passenger seat for a ride on the famous track. He sure got a ride of his lifetime in green hell.

I think if he would have gotten off the brake some he might have been able to oversteer it through the turn. And then I wonder what kind of tires he is running. They don't seem sticky enough.

What's pretty amazing is that in the first video, the car looks barely damaged inspite of the pretty nasty it...only the mirror got folded back. Pretty tough shell, eh?

I've never driven it in person, but I've seen loads of YouTube clips from that corner, which match my experience driving it in GT5. The car is unsettled from the crest of Flugplatz, you then brake through the left hander for the right handed corner where the XJ went off. Thing is, that right hander is much slower than it reads.

Bodyshell looks like it's intact, but I don't like the door deformation, and I'm reckoning there's plenty of suspension and diff damage.
