Currently in the process of researching and trying to find out if I can still run my stock rims when I get the big brake kit installed
As this has properly never been done before on an XJL, it is proving to be quite difficult, would appreciate any helpful input regarding the measurements of the required tabs on the table in the picture
In the process of buying old spare parts so I can get the measurements done as accurately as possible
I have been working on the car for the past year or so, this would be the home stretch of the build so I really hope it works out
Thanks for the reply maybe my post was a bit misleading, I am currently running the stock mativa 20” rims front 9J ET 49 rear 10J ET 46, the new front BBK will require additional clearance at the front of at 5mm, but seeing it's not really safe to be running a 5mm shim/spacer while stock wheel nuts, I’d prob have to get custom forged or at least new rims, Ideally the new offset to accommodate the new calipers should be around ET42 give or take but not sure if I can still keep the rim at 9J or 8.5J
All that aside the most important help I need is really to find accurate measurements illustrated in the table regarding the wheel bore diameter, hub diameter, steering knuckle thickness etc so I can get the new calipers made to be the best fitment possible.
Worst case scenario I would have to buy a wheel hub with a steering knuckle attached and send it to the caliper manufacture for them to check for fitment.
I can't help there as I have that same wheel and the "stock" high performance brakes that are on SuperSports and XJRs and they are more than adequate. Even for highspeed events.
I'm in the market for pads and rotors. I'll do the work myself. Did you get dealer parts or order them aftermarket. I have the XJL supercharged model. Not the SuperSport or the XJR.
I have OEM rotoer and Brembo pads. The setup works great and the brakes have that OEM feel and much less dust. BTW the Brembo pads are quite inexpensive.
V8 Supercharged XJs have larger brake rotors and different calipers than the V6 and Diesel XJs. I know the brochure has indicated performance brakes on the Speed package and the XJR.
I had already sold off my OEM Mataiva wheels before I installed my big brake kit from PB Brakes, so I can't say for certain whether it would've all fit, but I highly doubt it. The OEM spare tire definitely didn't fit.
