The 14-year warranty
So... on to topics actually relevant to the X305...
Do you XJ12 owners know that our USA vehicles were blessed with an extended warranty courtesy of the EPA? Since there were some OBDII rule violations with the V12, the EPA required Jaguar to correct any defect that caused a MIL light, for 14 years or 150,000 miles, and for all owners of these X305 vehicles during that time. Not that it would help any of us now, but some vehicles probably benefited from the extra attention at the Jaguar dealer as the vehicle aged, and so made for better running X305s at late resale the last few years. I bought my XJ12 from the original owner at the very end of this 14 year period. I believe that is why they kept the car for so long. Any related stories out there?
"No one knows" that the body style they recognize as an older Jaguar XJ6 or XJ8, could be endowed with the last generation Jaguar V12 engine... it lurks quietly under the same bonnet with only subtle hints of its existence. It is a very well kept secret. Most have never seen one. It is rare, special and distinctly different than the AJ16 X300. To me, it is truly the ultimate in a luxury sedan from its era.
Happy Holidays, X305 owners, near and far.

You want pictures of a 14-year warranty?? Hmmm...
Oh yeah, I went off topic and daydreamed about my charming car! There is one picture of it in my forum garage. The only one you need. And yes, there is a beautiful body wrapped around that tamed beast! I'll get more pics added when I can.
