Intake Mods
My ‘95 was described in its for-sale ad as having bigger, and polished, throttle bodies and K&N filters. In scouring AJ6’s website’s technical articles, it sounds like this might give a little extra power but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze with the impact on fuel economy.
I’m coming from a much faster car already, so I don’t think being even a little slower, still, would be too noticeable and when you’re dancing with single digit MPGs, just 1 or 2 better makes a big difference over the course of a year.
What’s the consensus over here, if there is one, on these mods? Worth it to try to find stock TBs?

I’m sceptical that a that an enlarged throttle body alone would make a notable decrease in fuel economy. throttle body size change without a fueling change just doesn’t seem like a giant needle mover.
Before you start hunting for stock
units, measure your throttle bodies and see if they truly are larger. Harbor Freight sells some digital calipers for as cheap as $10 that are certainly accurate enough for this. https://www.harborfreight.com/home/h...per-63586.html

Good quality filters are a good idea, along with cleaning out the airway routes to the cylinder heads and O2 sensors but since there's no way to upgrade the fuel curves easily there's little point in 'larger throttle bodies' imo.
Mobeck do an expensive fuel injection upgrade kit fior 5.3 V12s but the 6.0 engine pretty much has all this bolted on, and thet's where Jag v12 dev stopped unless you get into expensive racing level tweaks.
