Howdy Everyone,
I'm from Tx and my family has over the years owned various Jags: from my grandfather owning a 66' E-Type 2+2 and Mark II Saloon to my Father owning an XJR-S for a brief time before having to sell it to help pay for his doctorate degree. When the new Ford designed XJs came out in 95' my mother was smitten and two years later bought a Jade Metallic Vanden Plas with 9k on the odomoter for less than half what it was new.
Anyways that is my brief intro as a new member and pertains to my current question. My family doesn't have the wealth it once did (Goldman Sachs playing no small part in that...) and as such, along with some professional mechanical help I am beginning to restore my mother's pride and joy to its former glory, maybe better. One major thing I have been pondering is changing out the XJ6 bumper to an XJ8 bumper..I prefer the look of the XJ8 bumper and was wondering if anyone knows if this swap is fairly easy, has anyone done it, or if there are any major obstacles, what are they?
