Default remove oil filler cap after unscrewing it

I can unscrew the oil filler cap on my Jag XJ 2008 and I can lift it about 2 inches but I cannot remove it as it is blocked by a cover. Any ideas?

Your on the XJ12 forum and it has no traffic what so ever. I would have thought a moderator would have moved your thread by now? But as I said no traffic here what so ever. Try reposting in the XJ8 forum and you will receive an answer. I have never owned an XJ8 so I cannot assist. Visit the new member section and do an introduction when you get a chance.

I love the big heavy metal oil filler cap on the V12, painted red. It must be the last of it's kind. No cheap plastic there.

Same on my '92 XJ6 as well. Newer XJ40s lost it. Such a nice touch, more than a few people have commented on the big red metal caps.

Reminds me of the big heavy metal filler caps on the Rolls 6.75L.
