hi - looking for some help please . my father has a 1994 xj12 ( lovely car ) but the radio is not working - ( lights working in radio , but no digitals to be seen + no sound also ) brought it to a mechanic who as tried 2 frt radio's in it . but problem still exists ?? was know told it was the Harmonn Kardon box unit that is mounted in the left upper of the boot . Has anyone else expericed this ? Your help is greatly appreciated . regards .

 

The Alpine radios were so bad I wouldn't be surprised at having three duds in a row. I have a small collection of them myself :-)

That said, I reckon it *could* be an amplifier problem. Not sure how you'd diagnoses that, though. There are some audiophiles around....one of them will chime in.
