Default 04 XJR Vibration

Hello, I have an 04 xjr w/20" sepang wheels and new Michelin tires. It has been aligned and rebalanced twice yet there is a slight vibration during acceleration. Any thoughts. Thanks a lot.

Scott,

If you feel this vibration in the steering wheel -- 2 questions arise:

1. Was the ballancing Road Force Ballancing?

2. Did the people who did the ballancing check that the wheels are unbent. This car has wheels easy to bend. This is usually correctable.

If you don't feel the vibration in the steering wheel it could still be 1 or 2, but probably in the rear only.

If you have round wheels and road force bal and rotating the tires changes nothing then report back as we have a whole new can of worms.

The previous poster brings up some good issues. I have the same car with the Sepangs as well- all four of mine are bent and I too have a similar issue (minor annoyance really). I would be really surprised however, if the shop didn't check that the 1st time you brought it back with a problem. Some other common causes could be a bent driveshaft (or loss of a shaft weight?)- possibly a motor mount. Good luck with it!
