'05XJ8 replacing coils difficult? Misfire
Team,
My XJ8L has intermittent misfires. Not enough to throw the CEL or save a code. Qualified shop agrees with me that a coil is going out... I see Welsch has AJ87644 coils at under $40 each - I am thinking I'll replace all 8 with a mere $320 proving or disproving the coils as the culprit. Is this easy? I know my old cars, having installed the engine in my E-Type and such, but the new stuff is not my cup of tea. A little advice before I purchase that parts and jump in would be greatly appreciated.

I've replaced all of mine with no real issues. Used two universal joints and various length extensions with the ratchet and socket. I did not have to remove any extra parts like others have on the forum, my experience was not bad at all.
The most difficult ones will be the rear ones on each side. The drivers side will be more trying than the passenger side, but with the right extensions and universal joints it can be done without removing any other parts.
