Default 2003 xj8 won't start could it be maf sensor?

So, I posted yesterday that my 2002 by the manufacturer plate, but 2003 by US standards, will not start, no lights, no anything she's dead. The battery is new shows good. I checked the inertia switch, it had not popped so no need to push to reset. I unhooked the cables from the battery and have them tied together approx 30 minutes now to do another hard reset. I only have one key. Yesterday, the anti-theft red light was blinking as of today nothing.

I do remember the 1st time I parked her and went to start her up before the 2 week period. I cranked her up went inside and came back in and it said something about the O2 sensor. I did cut her off, took a look at the exhaust pipes, noticed I had backed up underneath the carport very close to some items that it seems that the exhaust had no place for the air/fumes to go. I did not think about it at the time, did nothing and just left it alone.

Now, it sat 2 weeks or more, when I went to start her up I had dash board lights, she clicked, radio was on, my windshield wipers moved, yet she would not start. I go in the house come back out 10 or 15 minutes later the car is dead. I tried charging the battery, but the battery is good, at first it did show weak, but the battery is good.

Could it be the:
1. MAF SENSOR,
2. Fuel Relay
3. Should I add gas
4.. Any type of fuses under the hood or in the trunk
5. my Key?
6. My battery post are scratched so I am thinking I should lightly sand them to make them smooth.

Any idea where I can get a manual for this car? Any help is greatly appreciated. I am a 55 yr very very young woman and I would rather do it myself; plus my 4 yr old grandson gets a kick watching me, passing me tools, telling me to be careful, then working on his jeep or motorcycle. Last time I let anyone work on any one of my cars or my daughter or husband cars it was a disaster. I can pick good cars, do minor fixes, and even if I cannot fix it I would rather know what needs to be done so I can catch any auto repair guys in a scam!! :-)

I bought this car for business, so I can show up looking the part lol. I'm going out of town next week and want to drive her so hopefully I can get her running, and make sure she can handle the 5 hour trip safely.

You all are the greatest, just reading through other posts that others are having with other models helps tremendously. I'm glad I found this forum definitely a life saver!
KUDOS TO EVERYONE!!

Default Non start

Well the first thing i would do is replace the battery then check its charging ok once started a good way to check the battery is to put a volt meter on it get some one to switch it on and not the voltage the big cats take a lot of power there are lots people here that say the same check your power leads from your battery if it checks out ok you might find its just a bad connection or corroded cable good luck happy driving nothing better than purring down the road or as a mate of mine says wafting down the road cheers

Unplug the MAF and try to start it. Never done it on my X350, but on other cars when I have done it and the problem was the MAF, the car started and coded for a failed MAF. On said cars the system went into closed loop mode, which is not optimal, but pointed to the failed MAF. As I understand it closed loop mode just uses general parameters rather than live real data. I would assume the X350 has this ability. Hopefully someone will confirm.

The only thing that will cause the total power failure would be bad connection to battery as long as the battery is showing proper voltage. Even at proper voltage the battery may drop to virtual zero if some cells are going bad. Clean the inside of the battery cable connectors as well as the terminals.
If the battery can produce some power you should have some lights on, door locks etc.
However, if this is an X350 which I thought was only from 2004 MY in the states, there is a fuse box, in the trunk with three mega fuses in it. Check those across their terminals, not just the fuse. They can cut off all power from battery.

I can confirm that my 2004 Vanden Plas will start and run with the MAF disconnected and activates the code as you say
