Default 2004 XJR Transmission

So I have codes and a dealer telling me I need to R&R the transmission in my 2004 XJR. It has 92K miles on it so I am not too surprised.
However the price to do this is all over the map.

Can anyone suggest a expected price or guesstimate to do this?

Thanks

Greg

Can you be a bit more forthcoming on the circumstances that have given rise to this dealer visit, please.

What do you mean by R & R - Repair and Replace ? - so repair and replace what, as there is an automatic transmission and also a torque converter and the two can be replace separately.

Whatever, repair and replace of tranny stuff normally works out fairly expensive, but TCM software reflashes are very cheap, about 30 mins to one hour labour and no software charges

I had my ZF 6hp26 rebuilt, refurbed torque converter, new valves from sonnax in the valve body, all for $4600 from a transmission shop with zf experience.

Most of the 6HP26 issues are directly related to a worn out valve body. IF the issue is caught soon enough, simply replacing the valve body with a rebuilt on will solve the issue!

Mine was replaced under warranty at 55K for $4,000. After something blocked an oil passage and it started eating up clutches.
