I drove my car yesterday and everything was fine. Then today I went to drive it and everything was good, the lights and everything came on but my car wouldn't turn over at all. I believe I checked all the fuses and the battery seems fine. Also got under and tapped on the starter a bit because of friend suggestion but still nothing....any ideas?

Check that the gearshift is really in park. It could be the switch not functioning or the solenoid stuck activated. Try moving to neutral and start it there. That may work and narrow down the options.

If the gearshift lever is fully-seated in Park, it would be worth having your battery and alternator tested. Jaguars require strong, healthy, fully-charged batteries. If your alternator is failing, it is possible your battery discharged to a point that it can illuminate the instrument cluster, but not provide the current necessary to run the starter motor (which requires more current than any other component in the entire car). If a diode failed in the alternator, it could drain the battery to ground.

The ignition switch is another possible suspect. The starter relay is inside the Front Power Distribution Fuse Box in the engine bay and is non-replaceable (without disassembling the FPDFB).

Cheers,

Don
