Some have had good results, using the C L R product, followed with a back flush.
Being careful not to leave it in too long, as it is corrosive to aluminum.
If your successful in opening things up, be sure to change your coolant, on schedule.

If you follow the flushing route, be aware that it is the surface area available for heat exchange, not the flow through the matrix that counts. Many of these pass the coolant OK, but the cabin remains cool. Flushing on its own is useless, you need something with a dissolving action on the blockage material. I'm not sure what that is, it may be citric acid. The problem with chemical-assisted flushing is that if it doesn't work very well, you've spent a lot of time and effort for nothing, and will have to take it all apart again to fit a new matrix. This is why I bit the bullet and had a new matrix installed.
