2007 XJ8L Chime Issue
I'm having a warning chime issue on my 07 Jag XJ8L. It started suddenly. When the car is in forward or reverse motion the chime alarm sounds. When the car stops the chime alarm stops. It's very annoying if you have to drive any distance. I don't know if it's the seat belt chime or the door chime. I get no warning lights or messages indicating a problem. Has anyone had this problem and if so any possible fixes?? Any help would be appreciated.

My first thought is it could be the seat belt reminder chime caused by a faulty Hall Effect sensor in the seat belt buckle not sensing when the belt "tongue" is correctly inserted.

If it were the seatbelt or the door I'm thinking you would either have a seatbelt light or a door ajar message.
But since it sounds like you have neither, perhaps it's the parking sensors? That I've doesn't have an accompanying light. Are the tones the same whether going forwards or backwards? Always the same tempo, or does it vary?
