Default 2008 XJ Diesel Groan / resonance?

Hi,

I can't quite describe this noise accurately, all I can say is that if I hit a certain mph range at times - not the same range all times, take my foot off the accelerator after or while accelerating, there is some low frequency groaning kind of noise, as if the exhaust was touching the transmission for example and resonating noise came through the cabin.

Very infrequently I have a slight wobble when accelerating which I thought might be something to do with the g/box, but it it so infrequent and the box changes effortlessley with no jumps etc and the wobble is so infrequent.

The car has done 156,000 miles, but it has been serviced and looked after very well, being a 1 owner ex chauffeur and it really is in immaculate condition inside and out, including the engine bay.

Any thougths, anyone experience similar?

Thank you,
David.

Have you had the car MOTd since purchase ? Unfortunately the suspension joints on these cars are not long lived, so you could need some work front or rear, or both, (lets hope not both !!). Rear lower wishbone joints are a hardy perennial. Plenty of stuf on the internet now at far less than Jaguar prices and from the same maker.
