ABS/DSC not available but NO CODES
My wife's 2004 XJ8 with 100,600+ miles suddenly popped the ABS/DSC not available message and warning lights. I pulled the wheel speed sensors and checked them for dirt and any broken leads and found nothing that would have caused them to fail that could be found visually.
Once I got my SDD (v130.9) working properly (I've used it for 2+ years without a problem but when I installed it on anew laptop I screwed something up and had to track that down) I scanned it twice and both time it came back with NO CODES for anything. The first time I just had it clear the codes anyway and the lights went away but came back within 100 feet of driving.
This second scan this morning also came back with NO CODES but this time I went into the Svc. Functions and reconfigured the speed sensors and also had it reconfigure the ABS control module. In both instances it was able to communicate with the sensors and the control module without any errors and came back to tell me it had successfully completed the tasks. The lights went out the messages disappeared but came right back within 100 feet of driving.
What can I do from here?
Any suggestions or anyone else ever experience something like this.
The pinpoint tests of the entire circuit take up some 30 pages covering 51 possible trouble codes. That's a LOT of circuits for one person of 70 years to chase so any shortcuts would sure be appreciated<G>
