ac compressor control valve , replacewith compressor in car?

ac compressor control valve , replace with compressor in car?
I was well deep into a series of post reading and came across a statement that
mt2258 could be used for an x350 AC compressor. i ended up closing that page and cant find it again.
my diagnosis on my new 04 xj8 is that the AC works (blows cool ) at speed and then when at idle it blows NOT cool, a bit like cool outside air. this is the symptom of a malfunctioning control valve.
Based on the complexities of replacing the entire compressor i dont have a problem swapping out a $50 part in hopes of a fix . especially when the car shows symptoms of a malfunctioning valve
with that said i cannot find anything concrete on part #'s or how to's.
anyone swapped this part, and more importantly with the compressor in the car.
