Default Adaptive Cruise Module on 2004 Jaguar XJR

I have a 2004 XJR with an adaptive cruise module that needs to be replaced according to the dealer. They put the part number I need as "C2C23960".

Someone on ebay is selling an adaptive cruise module that they say is compatible with "model year 2005 or later Jaguar XJR" with part number "4R83-9G768-AA" and at a good price. I do not find much reference to this part number on Google.

Are these parts equivalent?

Also, what exactly is an "adaptive cruise control module"? Does it include the part that emits and sense the radar? Or is it just a computer?

Anyone have interesting or useful experiences to share replacing/repairing a nonfunctional adaptive cruise control on a 2004 XJR?

Thank you,

Eric

As far as I know they are two different modules and 4R83-9G768-AA wont fit your Jag, however it fits the range rovers and newer jags I assume, the 2004 XJR has the module that XKR has, so if you can find a one that came outta XKR then you can go ahead and bid on it, and the module is just the computer, and I dont think you can repair it but you can reset it I think.

There is an exchange part number C2C23960E which might be a cheaper option.

There were at least 7 different part numbers over the years for that module but who knows what the functional difference is, if any between them.

As JagMaster said, one from the old shape XK8 should work but there is still a reasonably narrow VIN range for the one that matches your part number (from VIN A38151 To VIN A40264).
