I wrote an article about how the air suspension works on the 2003 and newer XJs. Anybody want to add personal experience or any comments?

My comments at the end of that thread re the self levelling being done for human comfort not because of the headlights still stand, btw.
I haven't had to replace any air-suspension parts yet on my X350 (although the compressor is making weird noises and I get the occasional warning light) but I would say based on posts on this and other forums that the compressor is the most common point of failure not the springs.
If the article is yours, there is a huge amount of info on this forum that you could collate and put in to the article e.g the different modes the system goes through, what speed things do or don't happen at, when the compressor will get used and when it won't.
Depends where you bought your X350
The 2004MY didn't officially start until VIN G12878 in most countries and there were loads of X350's sold in 2003 in the UK and other parts of the world.

Nearly a year ago i found that one. I have a subscription to jaguar tech info hre at my shop and i read how it works besides that article but I wasnt comfortable with the amount of info I got. These things go out all the time in Miami and i'm staring to see these cars more and more as they go out of warranty. At first i thought the cars were bad but it turns out that the heat down here in Miami is what makes those air springs leak so much. Their lifespan is like 3 - 4 years down here. I also think is driving habbits down here... Anyways, now that i jave more experience i wrote that article and if anybody has any tricks short cuts or ideas to try...
