Air Suspension Fault 2005 VDP
The Air Suspension Fault message came on for my 2005 Jaguar XJ VANDEN PLAS. I notice when I turn off the engine and restart it after some time has passed, the light goes away and the ride is normal u
ntil the next time I drive for any long distance. The light just came on this week. Any suggestions?
Hi Thegaff1,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
I have moved your post to start your own thread so we can focus on your specific issue.
The fastest route to diagnosing the cause of your ASF is to have the car scanned for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) at a dealership or independent shop with the capability of reading the proprietary Jaguar Chassis (C), Body (B) and Network (U) codes, and not just the generic Powertrain (P) codes that most OBDII scanners can read. Please report the exact codes here, including the prefix letter, and we'll try to help.
In the meantime, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jag and give you a proper welcome.

When I bought my 2004 XJR 2 years ago it consistently showed an air suspension fault after driving about 4 miles in the morning. I found a compressor piston ring on eBay for about $22. I replaced it and things got a little better, for a little while. Then the problem came back pretty consistently. Then I found a whole compressor head on eBay for about $64. When I changed that, I found a check valve that had some debris in it not allowing adequate pressure to build in the tank. Cleaned the valve and haven't had a problem since. Good luck.
