Default Air Suspension Fault

Five months into new ownership of my 2006 XJR the dreaded Air Suspension Fault yellow light appeared on the dash. I had the car aligned and had the shop check for fault codes. Nothing directly related to the suspension system came up. Several CAN module communication faults came up. I drove the car for a few weeks as it didn't look too bad other than the rear maybe being slightly lower. Now it's low on all four corners and the "Vehicle Too Low" red light has started appearing. The front struts have already been replaced with the Arnott air versions, rear appears to be stock. I checked the fuse and relay under the hood and both are functional. I'm dropping the car off next week at a local mechanic who works out of his garage as I know no shop around here will likely touch it. If he can't figure it out I'll likely convert it to coil overs. Is the Arnott C2745 kit considered one of the better conversions?

A plain OBD-II scanner will not find suspension codes, you'll need a scanner capable of scanning all of the Jaguar modules. Without that you can't even make a guess as to what's wrong. I use the icarsoft LR-II, but I see the III is out now, not sure you need the III for the X350s, the II has all of that. You won't be able to do any programming, but you can read and clear codes from all modules in the car, and it's probably cheaper than the work you had your shop do.

Hello all,

Thebinge- I will be the first to ask; have you put a solid, long, strong charge on the battery and then cleared the codes to see if the problem cleared up?
These cars are succubus for a battery... I keep both of mine on constant trickle, even with a new batt.
An easy task while you are waiting to get into the tech would be to go looking at any visible grounding point. They can get loose or a little corroded and cause issue.

wfooshee- I am having issue with possible fuel injector on an '05 XJR...can the icarsoft LR-II correctly help isolate an injector ?

Apologies if I am slightly highjacking...

Kind regards,

Max
