Audio Connectivty Module problem needs to reset constantly

Can anyone help. My dealer/installer is stumped. I just bought the ACM for my 2004 vanden. Long story short, it always seems to work at first, but once i turn off the car for a while and turn it back on, it defaults to the CD changer and the only way to fix it is with the paperclip reset. It is brand new and hasnt worked yet, other than having to hard reset it each time. After they thought they fixed it for the 6th time, as I drove away, the audio gave some sort of warning beep and the system froze (once again, would only work with the paperclip).. He replaced the module and the main connection part (with the paperclip). they noticed that my purple wire drops voltage and need to see if that is affecting it. .Anyone else have this issue or advise?

For those following at home, if you unit/ipod works then DONT upgrade your firmware.. Ie if it aint broke, dont fix it. turns out after days of their working on it, they found it to be my ipod. I had upgraded from 1.2.1 to version 1.2.3 and it has bugs that made it not work. all seems good now that i downgraded my firmware back a few versions.. hope this helps.
