Default Automatic lights will not turn off

Hey guys and girls,
First post so hopefully someone can help. I have a 2004 xj8 (x350) and the automatics headlights will not turn off. If I turn the headlight switch to the "off" position I get a messages saying "lights off" in the message center in the gauge cluster. I am starting to have a number of electrical gremlins in conjunction to this. My keyfob stopped working, the cd changer states "cdc error" when selected in the audio screen and my abs sensor light has come on. Can one of these electrical issues interact and cause subsequent problems, or are all these things separate problems that have all arisen at the same time? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Next item up for bids is codes from SDD. A generic code reader may not reveal if there is a CAN or SCP bus fault.

SDD? Sorry im not too familiar with some of these acronyms. Would an iCarsoft i930 scanner be capable of revealing those codes you specified?

I'm not sure about your tool, since I do not own one. SDD is the PC software used by Jaguar technicians to diagnose and repair vehicles. You might give it a go with your tool and see if it does pull any codes though. Let us know what comes of it.
