bonnet / hood release cable routing

Hello,

I have a RHD X350 4.2 N/A Jaguar. The hood release lever is on the LH side

Can someone please check & confirm the route that the hood/bonnet release cable takes in this picture?
I do not recall that this cable went over on top of the diagonal "support brace" bars.
I have a new squeak / rattle near the firewall after having air-con work done - they apparently had to do something in that area (the filter drier or something is apparently hidden in there).
And now I'm wondering if they removed these braces for access. And perhaps they're seating differently now or something.
So far I could not find anything loose / rattle-y.
(They only worked on the engine side, not inside the car)
To the driver it sounds directly in front of you, at the bottom of the window or deep in the dashboard. To the passenger it also sounds exactly in front of you. So I suspected the window itself as the sound propagator, but I cannot replicate the sound when car not driving (so far!).

Thanks!

P.S. I found the rattle!

The left most diagonal brace from the firewall side the the side of engine bay, was not tightened down properly at the firewall side.
The washer under the bolt was free to move and that caused the irritating noise.
Tightening it really well sorted the problem. Back almost to bliss.

Now just the sunroof area rattle and a low speed rumbling downstairs, which no-one has been able to find thus far, to hunt down, and the car is new!

Mine is LHD, but my cable takes an almost identical route to yours EXCEPT it is routed UNDER that diagonal brace?

Thanks! That strengthens my suspicions that mine used to go underneath, but when they refitted the brace (not properly either), it ended up on the wrong side of it.

Yes, under the brace and under the fuel line (use your best judgement, our fuel lines are apparently different), then down behind the p/s reservoir and air box. That foam pad section has always been next to the oil fill on my car.

Michael, how do you manage to keep your engine looking so scrupously clean?

Thank you I'm a bit of a detail fanatic, though not as much as some detailers. Long story short, every time I wash the car I wipe down the door jambs, under the trunk lid, under the hood on the major surfaces with a damp rag just to get rid of the dust and road grime. Once a year I'll pull the major engine covers and give things a better cleaning. I don't use any dressings under hood, those tend to attract grime.
