Brake/Speaker issue

Brake/Speaker issue
Hopig to get some help here. I have a 98 VDP. Every time I step on the brakes the speakers go off. I am also experiencing a pop sound at higher volumn. Any one have any ideas. Was kinda thinking it is related to a short of some type. Need help with this one.
