Hi all

Being a proud owner of a X-type 3.0 sport with 150.000 Km on it I´m really considering buying a 2003 XJR with 50.000 Km that is for sale near me.
The reason is that I do very few Km per year now, so I think I could upgrade my X-type for a better cat.
So, ...... any of you already XJR/XJ owners care to give me your advice in the reliability of the car, or any other maintenance issues I can run into?

I´m going tomorrow for a test drive, so any inputs would be very welcome.

Regards

Unfortunately there is plenty of wrong with the car, and the seller had a hard time explaining why.
The car was advertised as having 50.000Km but it only showed 13.000Km.
Seller told me It had a new engine and gave me copies of the service manual for me to check.
I called Jaguar (I have some friends there) and they told me that they had no record of it and even if it had a new engine the Km would not be put to 0.
I email the seller and after checking, he corrected himself and said it took a new instrument panel and not a new engine (seems more plausible).
When I started the car I sensed the suspension "going up" and a very brief fffttt(I think this is natural, because of the Air shocks, correct me if I am wrong), but the engine light kept on and I saw a very quick "performance limited" or something like it.
I thought to myself..... time to head home..... to much of a risk for me.
I´m looking now at a 2007 XJ6 2.7 D with 140.000Km. Lets hope I have better luck with that.
I remember reading somewhere that the 2.7 Diesel engine was not very reliable, but I can not find that article again. Do any of you guys know if the diesel engine on the X350 has any issues???
Another thing ...... would a car with almost 150.000km on it gonna need shock or the dreaded compressor soon???

Thanks all

Car with 150.000 km probably needs mach more than shock and dreaded compressor.
Get mine xj8 with 21 k miles and already needs attention. Good lack with your purchase and be careful.
