Default Car left sitting over winter

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I really screwed up and left my 2007 Jaguar XJR out this winter and when I went to try to start it, the battery was DEAD. Like flatline dead. I read these forums and did not try to jump it. I instead bought a battery tender with a REPAIR module in it. I put the REPAIR module on for 18hrs., and got the battery up from 8 Volts to 13.7 Volts. I jumped in and got the car to start but it went into limp mode. After making some calls, a tech suggested I disconnect the terminals from the battery completely and let sit disconnected for 2 minutes and then put the terminals back on the battery. I did that and VOILA! the Jag started and ran like a top! I took it for a drive and it ran AWESOME! So note for the future........if you get low battery voltage, use a battery tender, get the voltage up. Start the car and see what happens. IF it goes into limp mode, disconnect the terminals from the battery, let sit for 2 minutes, reconnect terminals and it should reset the ECM, and the car should run great! Hope maybe this helps someone.

Cheers,

Eric Schutte

Glad it worked out for you, and thank you for posting the info. I typically leave my car on a tender when I dont use it for a week or more, but still good info.
