XJ 350 - 2006, Cd multi changer is showing an error and won't play or reject the CD's, this is not affecting the single play disk in the dash just the multi changer in the boot ! How can I reset it or remove the disks ?

 

This may sound crazy, and it probably is, but I had the same issue with the "CDC-ERROR" showing and the cartidge not ejecting, and I saw someone here on the forums say "I've always just tapped mine with a screwdriver handle" so I gave it a shot and sure enough a few taps to the cartridge and it popped right out.

From what I've gathered the issue is most commonly causd by the parts inside the CD changer getting stuck or caught up on each other. The screw driver is a short term fix as it may come back again, but if you're concerned with it being a reoccuring issue removing the CD changer and re-lubricating the moving parts has resolved the issue for me long term.

 

+1 one on the lube but I also adjusted the endplay on the worm gear

Unfortunately i was not able to coax the tray back in and had to remove the outer case to get to the worm gear and wind it back

Mine was caused recently when we were traveling for 2 months. I left the car with the the battery disconnected while we were away. When I reconnected the battery something went wrong with the changer and it made the 3rd tray stick

the real pain is I never use the changer, only the ACM but when the changer has the CDC fault you cant get the ACM working. I now have the changer with no disks
