Chrome wheels on XJ350 - good or bad idea?
Chrome wheels add a sense of elegance and increase the appeal of the car IMO. BTW until recently, many Jaguar models offered factory chrome wheels as an option. But as many have already said this is a personal preference.
Ooh I'm not so sure?
Harleys.... Look ok but are heavy, slow and don't handle.
Jaguars.... Sexier than a sexy thing, sometimes slow, sometimes heavy, but always smooth, suave and sophisticated.

Here's mine. I exchanged my factory wheels for chrome through California Chrome Exchange. Also inflated them with nitrogen as that prevents moisture from building up and damaging the wheels. They seem to fit right in here in Los Angeles and I get a huge amount of compliments. But then, I am in Los Angeles.
I like those wheels a lot!

Yeah a couple of weeks ago my mate wanted to trade a ride with me!
We rode out into the twisty roads of Wales, him on my Suzuki Hayabusa, me on his Harley V Rod. Nice enough bike but much nicer to look at than ride!

So far I have kept the non-chrome wheels. The primary reason being the California Wheel Exchange site says do not drive in winter salty road conditions. I do drive in such conditions. While my GM factory chrome wheels on my 2000 Cadillac still look great after 13 winters, they didn't come with a disclaimer not to drive them in the snow. I worry that the California wheel exchange ones aren't as durable and are engineered/suited to the California weather. Maybe they are just covering themselves with the disclaimer and they would survive salt - I don't know.

I absolutely love the small but tasteful facelift of my 20inch enkei lussos that I put on my xjr..I was so tired of seeing my cat look like every other cat.I dont beleive in over doing it but new shoes alway bring a added style to any outfit!lol also any odd sized tire and rim are more costly, so the even size tires saved me money and were easier to find for future replacement...
BTW, a cycle magazine gives my Harley Sportster 1200C a 1/4 mile time of 13.0 @ 100 mph. In this section of the forum there's a thread about Cambo351's XJR turning 13.2x @ 105.x mph. The Harley would take it in the 1/4 … but the Jag would easily take it by the 1/2 mile mark. My sportster isn't as fast as my Yamaha VMax but still respectable and it's fun to ride. I enjoy taking it into the local mountain twisties, too.
Speed isn't everything, otherwise we wouldn't be driving Jags, right?
The legendary Harley paint, chrome, fit and finish is among the best in the world regardless of 2 or 4 wheels. Or 3 wheels (I have a Russian "Ural" sidecar rig).

Not knocking the V Rod and yes it is an American Made Harley-Davidson it just seems to fit in a category of its own. (Which I'm not calling a bad thing).
I've ridden the V Rod and it is fast, but not fast compared to popular sport bikes.
It has a cruiser riding position which is kind of weird when riding a performance bike in the twisties.
From the Sportster through the Electra Glide Ultra Classic all the way to the CVO models the bikes sport a nostalgic look that is Harley. My eyes don't see it in the V Rod.
Not knocking the bike and If I could afford the stable of motorcycles I would like to have (I cannot) a V Rod would be included, it just seems to stand alone in the Harley-Davidson lineup.
No disrespect intended.

The 2004 XJR that I purchased about a year ago came with the factory XJR wheels that had been chromed at some point. They are in excellent shape and in my opinion the chrome does not in anyway detract from the elegance of the car.
If you do go for the chrome, make certain that they are OEM, I bought a set from Cal Chrome and they started pitting after nine months, of course no warranty since MI uses salt, do you home work before spending your money
My new-to-me 08 XJ8 L came with these chrome wheels. I think they're fine, although I'm not usually that flashy ;-)
Anyone know what these (presumably factory) wheels are called?
Thanks!
