Dangling Sensor

Default Dangling Sensor
2004 XJR

While looking at my heater core pipes in anticipation of a flush, I noticed the sensor below dangling in the bay. Any idea what it is and where it goes?

It belongs in the centre hole in the top of the strut

See the strut on t'other side of the bay.

Thanks. I assume this works with the air suspension/dampers. A previous owner replaced the air suspension. So, it’s probably not affecting anything.
