Do I have front parking sensor - 04 XJR
Hi, all. I'm trying to get familiar with my car.
When I start the car, the computer readout says something like "front parking sensors off" or something to that effect.
Looking in the manual, it sounds like if my car had front parking sensors, I would have a button near the sunroof and lamp controls, but I don't have that button.
I'd like to turn the front parking assist on if I have it (tight fit into our garage). Does anyone know (1) how I can tell if I have this feature (and in general, how do I tell what options I have) and (2) if I do, how do I activate it?
Thanks.

On the X350's the front and/or rear park assist sensors are active by default unless you push the overhead button to disable them.
As mentioned, it's pretty easy to determine if your car is fitted with park assist on the front or rear or both by looking for the 4 round sensors along the bumper. In the US, I believe front sensors were a less common option.
While I'm sure anything is possible, it's usually not cost effective to be adding features after the fact that the car did not come with. You would have to check to see if the wiring exists behind the bumper and goes back to the module (which I think is in the trunk). You might require the dealer to configure the car computers to "see" the new sensors. In short, it's probably a whole lot cheaper and simpler to hang a tennis ball from the ceiling to give you a reference where to stop.
