Default door speakers don't work help

I just purchased a used X350 my 4th Jag... a 2006. But for some reason the door speakers don't work. The forward tweeters work as well as the rear subwoofer but none of the doors work. I'm loath to start taking things apart without any direction. Has anyone seen this before?

Common problem. 3/4 of my door speakers don't work. I haven't gotten to fixing them yet, but here is the method:

I've just done 2 door speakers with the method listed above. Use a mltimeter to find where the problem is, with mne it was where they plastic welded the braided copper wire in place. I think the plastic may be doig something to the copper as both were faulty in the same place. The copper will probably be dirty and corroded so the solder will not stick, arrrgh! Try using a fiberglass pencil to give it a bit of a scrub to see if you can get it to stick. I also found that both dash speakers were bust on mine, 2 snapped wires, but as there is no space to get in there to fix them I had to replace instead.

Default Three of mine were blown.

Replaced with another brand. Did the tweeters too. Pop door panels and get after it.
The subs worked, but replaced too. They weighed about 2 oz each. The stock Alpine speakers are crap. Surround was gone in all four door speakers.
The dash speakers have held up. I think the radio and such is fine. The Sirrus converter or whatever is junk.
Jaguar must have had the suspension bushings engineer spec the stereo once he finished the bushings.

Hey Panelhead,
What brand did you use and where did you get them? The plastic surround is very unique. How did you find something to fit?
I have tried the repair by jumpering the old wires. Yes mine had bad continuity as well. After the repair and checking the continuity, the speaker still does not work.
I couldn't even get it to work when hooked up to my stereo...
Steve
