DSC light intermittent
Hi there I have a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 with an intermittent DSC light on the cluster. It doesn't come on every day but it is on most of the time. When the light is off you can turn it on by pushing the DSC button on the J gate. But once the light comes on (of its own accord) you cannot turn the light off by pushing the button.
The car has about 70k miles.
I used my scan tool to go into the ABS module and it gave me these codes:
U2527 CAN network 2 communication bus off ‑ transmit error
U1901 CAN network 2 communication bus fault ‑ receive error
With the car driving I also used the scan tool to read all four wheel speed sensors. They are all operating fine as far as I can tell and are within 1mph of each other with no weird spikes or anything like that.
The car also has a new battery.
Everything I've read so far about DSC issues people recommend cleaning the wheel speed sensors along with the tone ring on the axle. I guess I'm wondering if those codes mean anything to anyone and whether or not it's worth it to try and clean the sensors if they all apparently read correctly with the scan tool.
Thanks for you time.

Possible ABS module bad pin connection

Thanks for the quick reply and links.
I found more detailed descriptions of the codes I got and it looks like the thing they both have in common is the yaw rate sensor.
U1901 DSCCM Dynamic Stability Control Local CAN network (steering angle sensor, yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensor) communication fault N FH103 -25 -29 Local CAN circuit: open circuit, short circuit to B+ voltage, short circuit to ground DSCCM internal Local CAN fault Local CAN network fault
U2527 DSCCM Dynamic Stability Control Local CAN network (steering angle sensor, yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensor) transmit fault N FH103 -25 -29 Local CAN circuit: open circuit, short circuit to B+ voltage, short circuit to ground DSCCM internal Local CAN fault Local CAN network fault
There's a whole procedure in the workshop manual called "Pinpoint test G531322p10 : Yaw rate sensor and accelerometer" that basically has you test voltage and continuity between different pins on the Yaw sensor harness under the center console and the ABS/DSC plug under the hood. Seems like a good place to start.
Thanks for the help.

I am no expert bt have been reading this forum for 16 years
Yaw rate sensor fault is very very unusual
but good luck
ABS module pin problem has happened before.
