Just noticed the front passenger door lock will not lock electrically. It will unlock..... but not lock. I pulled the latch out and cannot see why it is not working. The design is kind of strange, there is only one cable for the door pull and the lock. I wa wondering if this is a one fo a kind problem since I haven't seen it on the forum before.

 

I have had a similar problem-traced it to the microswitch in the lock.Replacement microswich not available.

I fitted a "new lock".

It sounds very similar to what I was inquiring about recently. My rear door would not lock but unlock with the remote - I needed to lock it manually after opening the door. Then the door would lock and unlock with the remote normally, until I opened the door again and I needed to lock it manually???
I opened the door and closed the latch to see what was wrong I pushed the remote and it would lock and unlock normally. I did that a couple of time closed the door in disbelieve and suddenly it worked with the door closed - at least for now???
How much is a new lock?
