Front Electronic Module Repair Shops?
I have 2004 XJR that the front seat heaters are not working and the mechanic has traced continuity from the console on/off buttons to the FEM and the seat heater wires to the FEM but they still won't heat up. He believes the FEM has a failure. Seems that all other functions coming from that module are fine. Is there any electronics module repair companies anyone could recommend that I could get a diagnostic and/or rebuild to verify the unit is completely functional? We have tried a unit purchased from eBay but that too seems to have the same issue and they are thinking it may also be faulty but that is the risk of eBay and old parts. The part number is C2C 22369. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
The first thing I would do is to find someone who has SDD and try to re-flash the FEM, it might just be corrupted and needs the VID block of the car reinstalled.
If you do that, don't forget that, during the re-flash, the car needs a stabilized power supply connected to the battery capable of delivering 50A at 13.5V or 13,8V. When SDD is connected, all the control modules are powerded up and the battery will be drained in no time. If that happens during a re-flash, the electronic module gets bricked.
Best regards,
Thomas
