Front height too high after installing Arnott shocks
I had a leaking front shock on my 2005 XJ-8 (120K miles) so replaced both front ones with a pair of Arnott AS-2888 shocks. After driving the car a number of miles, both sides are now a few inches too high when the car is in the parked mode. Should I disconnect the battery and release the air completely by loosening the air hose from one of the front shocks, with the hope that when I retighten the hose and start the car it will return to the right height? Or is there another way to try and correct this without taking it in for a dealer reset? Thanks for any advice!

Once drained, go ahead and tighten them back up and turn the car on, if your height sensors are working it should go the proper height.
Edit: Forgot to mention mine sometimes go up when the car is off and parked for a bit. Once I turn it on and drive it, it drops back to regular height. I am guessing you already drove it a few miles if so proceed with the advise above.
Thanks LuisJag. Could you get the same results by loosening the connections to the front shock air hoses at the air reservoir in the boot? I don't relish going through the rear seat to get to the air suspension module.
I bled the air from both front shocks by loosening the hoses at the solenoid block under the spare wheel. The front of the car dropped all the way down as expected. I then retightened the hoses and started the engine and the front rose to the correct height. After driving about 5 miles, I checked the height about an hour after turning off the engine and the height is still perfect. Thanks for the helpful advice!
On AUG/2019 I had this issue either but...
I chose to order Jaguar's original front shock absorbers, P/N 44-069483 from "MOSS-EUROPE",
(enjoying 10% discount when ordering pair), follows the lessons from youtube:
&
and the cat has no alerts or other strange error messages since then.
FYI.
