When I removed the front wheels of my 06SV8 recently to reinstall the sway bar links I noticed that the holes in the rotors are a little larger than the studs and the rotors could be rotated slightly back and forth. Judging from the thickness of the material, the brake pads looked almost new and the rotors were nice and smooth so they might also be new on this 126,000 mile car.
Is this bit of play in the rotors normal?

If I recall properly, the center hole of the rotor locates snugly on sort of a spigot on the hub itself. This prevents the rotor from moving radially. If so, the clearance you note between the studs and the rotor holes is irrelevant.Originally Posted by philwarner
