Glove compartment stuck closed
All of a sudden my glove compartment's electrical lock will not release to allow access. This occurred at the same time that my trunk lock refused to respond to the trunk lid pushbutton, the dash release and the key insertion. The only way I could open the trunk was with my key fob trunk open tab. Unfortunately, I can't reference a solution from my owners manual because it is lock in my glove compartment! Anyone have a solution to getting the glove compartment open, returning the trunk opening function and what may have caused this dilemma?

Looks like you put your car in VALET MODE.
Try to open driver's door with your flip out key not with a button push....
When you get it unlocked put a masking tape over "VALET" button on center console

Big Kosh,
Thanks for the tip but it didn't work as you directed. You were correct that it was the Valet circuit that was keeping my glove compartment and trunk locked. In trying multiple approaches, I finally was able to release my locks from the Valet mode by using my main key fob i.e. separately press the lock and then the unlock buttons. Surprise! Both the glove and trunk circuits worked to open. My question now is, if the Valet mode is supposed to prevent some ones access to the glove compartment and trunk, why is using the main key fob effective in overriding the Valet mode? P.S. My recent car purchase came without the "Green" Valet key fob.

From the manual:
"To cancel valet mode, operate the key transmitter unlock button, or, manually unlock the luggage compartment with the key transmitter"
The point is Valet mode is only useable with the green Valet key, which doesn't have a transmitter.

On serious note:
Take a masking tape, draw skill and bones on it; tape it over valet mode button.
Seriosly, how many people driving car ever used 'valet feature' not just Jag, any car
