Default Heater hose identification

Im trying to ID a couple hoses. The first is the long hose with a hook end that goes from the thermostat housing to the auxillary pump.
<a href="http://s1298.photobucket.com/user/rbryant86507/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160512_135306_zpsg3mbff1m.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag53/rbryant86507/Mobile%20Uploads/20160512_135306_zpsg3mbff1m.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160512_135306_zpsg3mbff1m.jpg"/></a>

The other is a shorter hose of the same diameter that branches off from the metal tube at the front of the engine (the same that the upper radiator hose goes into) and runs down to a metal pipe at the US passenger side of the engine.
This hose is stamped with the jag logo and the number 2w93-8k534-be

This hose is stamped with the number 2w93-18k579-ae

I called the dealership and they didnt recognize the numbers and couldnt understand the description over the phone. Any help will be greatly appreciated as i am without a vehicle now lol

Suugest you download the jaguar EPC parts catalogue from http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...&txt=DOWNLOADS and https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-48194/. Lots of parts information for all jaguars. More information can be found in the How-To quick links "stickies" at top of the forum.

Hi catsgame,

I echo hafren's recommendation to download and install the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog, but since you're in a hurry, try looking at parts diagrams at jaguarmerriamparts.com, the Jaguar dealer in Merriam, Kansas who sells parts online at discount prices. If you had posted the year, model and engine of your car I would have taken a look myself. It's a good idea to add that information to your signature line so others don't have to ask.

P.S. That number on your hoses looks like a Ford part number rather than a Jaguar number, which probably just indicates the hoses were manufactured by a Ford OEM. The Jag part number will probably begin with something like "C2C".

Cheers,

Don

Look at the linked tech guide, from page 53 onwards discusses the cooling systems for the various engines. There are really clear diagrams labelling each of the hoses which I always refer to when a hose fails (and most of them now!)

Coincidentally on my 2004 XJR I have just had to replace the shorter hose you show (the internal heater supply pipe) as it developed a hole at the top fitting. It looks like yours has bulged and split in the same location?

If you tell me what model and year (you can PM me the last 6 characters of the VIN) I am happy to lookup the part number for you. (It looks like an XJR or SV8 with that metal manifold and I think that is the supercharger pulley, but I'm not intimate with those engines.) I'm not clear on the other pipe on the diagram, so if you can identify it and post a scanned copy with it labelled I can try and find it in the EPC for you. I have an idea what it is, but don't want to give you the wrong part number until I know the VIN.

The tech guide is a PDF here: http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto...ch%20Guide.pdf (65MB).

Thanks for all the great info!
It is a 2004 Xjr and the last 6 of the vin is G15477
As a temporary fix, i ran down to the autozone store and got a $5 section of hose and an inline plastic connector tube. I cut the bulged end off the old hose about midway down and slid the connector inside the old hose and the new piece, put 2 hose clamps on and reattached it filled it up and it seems to be working for the moment.
Im defintately going to be using the info yall provided in the future because they all feel pretty flexible and wornout. Also probably looking at a serpentine belt change in the future - looks that will be a grand ole time doing that lol

Based on your VIN and XJR:

The heater feed hose (the smaller one in the second photo) is C2C1984. It is exactly the same as the part I replaced on Friday, and in the UK costs £15. It is the lower of the two pipes marked (4) on page 59 of that PDF.

The larger hose going from the thermostat housing to the aux pump is C2C12952 and costs £32. It is not individually labelled in the PDF.

Mine is slightly younger than yours by a few months, and I have replaced most of the hoses around the radiator when leaks have developed over the last 2 years. It's always the same failure method - they blows out at the clamp where the hose meets the moulded stub.
